We failed SNSD..

One year after our post on Girls Generation, they turned up at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for two nights.

And we failed them.

We failed to buy tickets to see the girls.

Instead, we huddled up at Yakki's place, watching a DVD of their music videos and snippets of a live concert.

Sobs.

Flashback - Sum41 at Fort Canning (30 Jul 2003)

Time flies.

"maybe it was the location, maybe it was the crowd, but what a concert it was by sum-41. for that 61 bucks (student rate) of mine, it was well worth it. compared to the travis-coldplay and rhcp concerts i attended, this one certainly top my list. the participation by the crowd was brilliant and was probably helped by sum-41's lead singer derek whibley when he urged us to "forget about the ushers, climb over the barrier and get closer to the stage". it might not have been too pleasing to those who forked out 111 bucks, only to see cheapos like me getting into their vip areas with the band's permission, but that built the atmosphere as the crowd packed to the front and started dancing to the music. mineral water bottles and tiger beer cans were being thrown around, rock hand signs were up in the air and body-surfing?! could be seen. the band played around 20 songs with so much energy and we could all see that the crowd was slowly expending their energy by like the 7-8th song. still, the music kept going and sum-41 managed to psyche us up for the later part of the show. brilliant concert indeed."

Now we know why 24 year old Gerard Pique of Barcelona FC fell for her despite the Hips Don't Lie humongous age gap between them.

We're rabiosa-ly smitten too.

In case you're wondering who Rebecca Black is, she's a 13 year old girl whose parents decided to splash some moolah and get some "renowned" producers to do this song for her. If these lyrics were hers, I think still okay lah. But they're professionals man. Lyrical miracle aye?

Apparently, they're industry professionals who have worked with Miley Cyrus, the Backstreet Boys and Ashley Tisdale. No wonder lah!

Introducing Girls' Generation..

Yes yes yes. We have gotten lazy in December. Just 3 posts to show, but 'tis the season to chill in the chilled weather and play StarCraft.

What finally jot us out of our slumber is discovering this Korean girl band called SNSD or better known to the English speaking world as Girls' Generation. They are a 10 girls band, aged between 19 and 21 (typing that is making me feel perverted).

Nope, we didn't hear them on the radio or catch them on MTV, but discovered them in electrical appliance shops.

During our search for Christmas gifts, we noticed that the LED/LCD TVs and laptops at Best Denki and Harvey Norman no longer displayed football, birds and bees or scenery shots.

It's great we didn't have to listen to them (you don't want to) in Best Denki. We just watched them move, HD-style. Together with Guys from every other Generation.

It was a true National Service bonding moment.

Following our best-est Best Denki experience, Yakki was convinced we had to vote for Girls' Generation to come to Singapore. We now implore you to vote for them on Sistic's website. If they do come to Singapore, we (all the lewd men) can head down to the Indoor Stadium, wave our light sticks and make merry like thousands do in Korea.

To convince you to vote for them, we had gone great lengths to find the clip we enjoyed the most in Best Denki. Enjoy, but do remember to vote. We wanna party like the dudes in this video.
