Morning after our arrival in Hong Kong, XLB brought us to the 中环 (Central) area for brunch.

We had previously not heard of terms such as 猪扒包 and 心多多捞丁.

But upon being served by the efficient waiters at 兰芳园, all was clear, crusty, tasty, slurpy and savoury.

Located along 中环结志街, 兰芳园's 猪扒包 is amongst the top ten in Hong Kong according to XLB. The 心多多捞丁 was less brilliant, but better than any of the imitations we've tasted in Singapore.

We finally understood why our fellow citizens love this similar albeit messier city.

The food's simply simple and irresistible.

Hong Kong - W Hotel Kowloon

It was a turbulent flight into Hong Kong, during which we noticed that SIA girls donned uniforms that appeared to show nothing, but in fact showed close to everything. Surely part of a bigger marketing ploy to keep the business people loyal to Singapore Airlines.

Welcome to W Hong Kong!

Checked into W Hotel at the Kowloon area at 12mn. The receptionist was friendly and chatty, but we were more attracted by the hotel's decor. As it was Halloween, W was decorated with spiders, skulls, pumpkins..

W Hotel Lobby

We're on a row in terms of hip accommodations. If Le Meridien in Bangkok was Mad Men-styled, W Hotel was Entourage.

Walkway to Hotel Utopia

The room had a similar feel to that of Le Meridien. The toilets were kinky-ly linked to the bedroom with sliding doors. The tub had a tv, the lights were cosy. It was designed with the intent to keep you in it forever.

We've become fans for life.

Now we need someone to demolish and rebuild Le Meridien Singapore to help it live up to Le name.
