I had intended to write a little piece of something to whine about the lads' experience at the award-winning Garibaldi at Purvis St.
But after what's happened over the weekend, it would be inappropriate to dedicate a post just to diss at the crap food and service.
It's sad to hear Norway, a peace-loving country, suffer such a shocking and tragic act of terrorism committed by its own citizen. It's sad that he did what he did to innocent lives based on his stupid ideology.
It's sad to see that lives are lost so easily in such a mundane activity like taking a train. Whether it's failure on the government's part or companies' slipshod jobs of building and maintaining the railway, it's a pity nonetheless that families lost their loved ones just like this.
And of course, closer to heart, would be someone who's touched us with her music. We all knew she was in trouble for a long time, but it seems so unreal that she would just leave the world so easily.
They say she's joined Club 27. It is made up of very talented people, but still, it just doesn't seem right to categorise them all in a group because they've left at age 27.
And perhaps we should all take just a little time off complaining today and be thankful for our fortunate little lives and the ones around us.

Summertime
The weather's been freaky these days. One moment it's kinda cool, the next it's scorching hot. Anyway, the point is, it's actually summer in the northern hemisphere.
So, anyway, we thought it'll be cool if we could do some photography for some summery looking people in the summer.
We're looking for someone to fit the summer sunshine bubbly theme for outdoor photo-shoots. So, if you're pleasant looking and easygoing, do drop us your details and a decent photo at wallyakki@gmail.com. If you suit our style and concept, we'll let you know, arrange for a half-day session and give you a nice little portfolio at the end of it.
Speaking of which, I have to present some of Yakki's works to convince you we're worth a go.
Presenting to you one of our early works in Changi!

Foxxxy and The Side Trackers Go Kite-Flying
We've done it. Finally out and about, trying something new, doing something different.
Foxxxy was the reason why we got together on Sunday. The lil one is leaving our shores for the Alps. I guess foxes are more comfortable in a four seasons habitat than sunny and humid Singapore.
It's been a blast with her. The drinking and the thrashtalking, especially so when she's more of a dudes' dude than a chicks' chick.
So we celebrated her new journey with a kite named after her friend, assorted beers and three levels of Jerrys' chicken wings.
Looking forward to seeing her half-blood foxlets in years to come. Hehehe.
P.s. our last post mentioning foxxxy was one year 10 days ago. how time flies.

Guess Who This Cute Girl Is
We're giving you three tries to guess who this cute girl is.
One
"How you doin'?"
Two
"Come over here.. guess guess"
We don't blame you if you haven't got a clue who she is. We didn't too.
She's none other than 34 year old Shakira "Whenever, Wherever" Shakira. After a bit of a makeover and hair dye, the more commonly blonde Colombian looks like a little adorable minx in her latest video Rabiosa.
Now we know why 24 year old Gerard Pique of Barcelona FC fell for her despite the Hips Don't Lie humongous age gap between them.
We're rabiosa-ly smitten too.
Sidetrack: Pit bull features in her song, just like how he features in every other song. Concluded that Pitbull is the new Wyclef-Timbaland-Akon. We love his egg-shaped head.
(Rabiosa = Rabid / Mad)

Super Thursday
Wanted to blog substantially about Beijing today, but had a bit too much with Yakki and Yakki's girl.
So it's good night to all.

Day Out with Nicole Part I
As promised, we bring to you Yakki's first series of photos of the lovely Nicole.
The shoot almost didn't happen because the skies were about to open up and dump water all over us. Fortunately, the rain patiently waited for Yakki to capture Nicole's smiles.
It was great working with her, as she was so professional yet natural.

1 Year and 3 Days // 78 Posts On
1 year and 3 days on, thetuckshopsg still exists.
we've got an almost non-functional twitter account, 74 fans on facebook, 78 posts and 6638 hits till date.
pretty decent numbers we must say for a blog that talks about almost anything and actually nothing.
anyhow, we were all late for our one year celebration because yakki was busy photo-shooting a taiwan friend of ours (pictures coming up) and i was busy in beijing biting the dust.
was gonna talk about beijing. i have been there like 4-5 times and yet i have not spoken much about the great city.
but, before we head to the capital of china, let's wind back to shanghai.
after talking up yakki's manliness in the last post, i recalled the great shanghai incident.
it was a chilly night. a chilly chilly night.
as yakki and his girl strolled along the bund, a few stout mediterranean looking men sneaked behind his girl and chanced upon her purse.
yakki's girl realised in 2.7 seconds that she had been mugged, turned around and went chasing after the men.
for once, yakki was surprisingly not in his slumber-land. he was as sharp as an eagle and burst into a sprint.
for another once, he was shockingly brave. not considering that the uighur-looking men could be armed, could possess some xinjiang-ish martial arts, he took up his golden peacock stance and picked his girl's purse back from one's ratty hands.
for a third once, his half-baked wing chun, which he learnt briefly after watching ip-man, came to value-for-money use.
his lessons had not gone to waste. pe lessons. he picked the loot and ran.
he saved his girl's belongings and duly rewarded with a kiss under the mid-autumn moon.
